Three itineraries in the sign of good taste in a territory whose gastronomy is renowned the world over, and which, in part thanks to this “tradition” hosts the European Authority for Food Safety.
It is in this atmosphere that the Roads of Wines and of Flavours in Parma, should be considered: three gastronomic ‘DOC’ itineraries which the Province of Parma has keenly supported and which count on public members (Municipalities), private members and other associations.
They have been planned as “Itineraries with a high tourist potential, marked by agricultural production and enogastronomical products, typical and traditional and of high quality, included in a framework of attractions – landscape, historical, artistic – which blend in an original artistic and cultural unity”.
Value has been added to typical products also thanks to the setting up of the Museum of Food: the Museum of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese is found in Soragna, in an area that is known as ‘bassa parmense’, and the Museum of Parma Ham and of Salami from Parma in Langhirano in the hilly area which is suitable for the long aging process. Thus, typical products as the “front door”, as a further opportunity to discover the province of Parma: moving from a wine tasting to a visit to the cheese factories, establishments for the aging of ‘salami’, agricultural farms and vineyards, it is easy to be tempted by a cultural visit to the numerous boroughs, castles, churches, abbeys that dot the countryside where the three itineraries pass.
